Description

As I announced, here is Part 4 of PAB...This time, it's Nature!

A young Chatot was once well known for his talent in singing Folktales, despite his Quiet Nature and has earned respect from the majority of his school. However, his nature turns worse when transfer student Honchkrow arrives with better talent (in the opinions of many choir fans) and his pride causes some of Chatot's fans to root for him instead. Honchkrow also believed that small Flying types keep their squeaky voices and he puts Chatot down to where he was silent for months...That's when his friend, Breloom hatches a plan that could get him out of his depression.

Let's continue...

------------------------------------------------------------------

I was once more than willing to sing for my Male Pokémon Chorus class. Every time I went to that class during the fun times, many of my classmates loved my deep voice and I sang my lyrics in the style of opera and folk music. My teacher was impressed with me, and I was sent to a concert with only eight other top male singers from different high schools. I won first place and that’s how my fame started. I earned money for my talent and also for my presence.

Everyone loved watching me sing, even Pokémon that didn’t care much for singing! I was known as the “Chatot of Folktale Choir,” by my fans and the majority of the student body…Yes, there were some Pokémon that didn’t care for me much, but that didn’t put me down.

One day, a new student arrived. He was attractive to about half of the female population of the school and he was the one who took all of my fame away. His voice sounded much like mine, except that his voice was slightly deeper. He is known as what I call, “Honchkrow the Thief of Folktale Choir.”

Ever since, my Quiet Nature turned worse. I didn’t even speak for a long period of time, not even to my friends. Today, I can talk again just a little, like how a Dunsparce can lift itself above the ground just a few inches. I was taken to my psychologist back and forth since Honchkrow stole my fame in the Male Pokémon Choir.

“Chatot,” said my psychologist, Galvantula. “When was the last time you ever spoke?” This came from my previous meeting. She kept asking me if I have spoken or not, but I haven’t since Honchkrow could end up making fun of my voice, which he did four times already.

I didn’t even bother telling Galvantula about my final words before the loss of my fame. Out of the blue about two weeks ago, I was with my best friend, Breloom, and while hanging out, he brought a video camera containing all of my concerts along with me receiving awards and trophies for my talent. After watching the videos, for the first time in…Okay, for the first time in three months…I spoke.

The first words that popped out of my mouth were, “Breloom, I thank you. At least my fame still holds within your video camera. I want to put them on my PC and show my aunt these. She has never seen me sing.”

Breloom was one shocked Pokémon. “Chatot…You talked! You’re welcome anyway. Take the video camera for a while and give it back when the files are put in. Please do not delete these from the camera though. I may need them for a future Multimedia project.”

Like I said, right now, I can talk a little, but not very much. At school, most of my fans requested for me to get back into the spotlight again and compete with Honchkrow to see who the best male Pokémon of the school choir is.

“Well, I really can’t…,” I stuttered to my fans. “I’m glad you still cheer alongside me, but some others went over to that thief who took my spotlight to begin with.”

One fan replied, “Chatot, don’t let him get to you! We love you and we want you back as our Folktale singer! We will never let Honchkrow get away with this!”

Honchkrow flew right past me and my fans, with a Mandibuzz on his side. “You know Honchkrow has that bass voice among him,” said the Mandibuzz. “As for the Chatot, his fame died out long ago. Now there is my baby Honchkrow, and he will never die out!”

“You better watch what you’re saying, Mandibuzz and sometime soon, you’re going to regret loving Honchkrow. Chatot just recovered from a depression and you better not ruin his live either!” snapped another fan.

The Mandibuzz scoffed at the fan and flew with Honchkrow the Thief of Folktale Choir to their next class. Just as Breloom was thinking of a competition plan between me and Honchkrow, I reached my second class. “Aw!” he cried. “Chatot, we should meet by lunchtime and discuss more about it…Matter of fact, you two can compete around that time because the both of you have the same lunch period!”

I gulped. What will come of me once everyone in my lunch period finds out I haven’t spoke in so long? Once lunchtime arrived, several girls were admiring Honchkrow’s wings and the same Mandibuzz that Breloom, my fans, and I saw at the hallway was telling the other girls to back off. “He’s mine, I tell you! No one messes with his biggest fan!” she squawked wrathfully. “If you don’t want me to give you posers a Crunch upside the head, you better leave us alone!”

Honchkrow finally gazed at me, spreading out his wings and then flew as fast as he could without crashing into anyone. He landed right in front of me, meaning that it’s going to be a rough Folktale competition. “So, Chatot…You were the star until I came along about three months ago…That’s when you kept your beak shut due to your fame being stolen. Your beak should stay shut, Shorty! I have your fame now…Even my girlfriend Mandibuzz says so! She thought my voice was billions of times better than your pathetic squeaky voice.

“So, shall we compete to see who gets to be the male Folktale singer of the school? Whatever the case, we compete…In the rain!”

Crud, I didn’t know it was raining today until I saw for myself. Both my fans and Honchkrow’s fans followed us outside so the competition can start.

“You can’t do this to Chatot!” shouted a fan of mine. “He has a Quiet Nature! I don’t think he’ll be able to do it at this time of the day!” She turned to me. “Chatot, you’ve been recovering! You need to do this just for us and we won’t make you talk or sing this loud again!”

My fan was right. Back when this all started, my Quiet Nature just turned worse. During my three months of almost complete science (grunting, snoring, and shocked cries were the only signs of my voice), I was too weak to even compete with Honchkrow…Now that I have put up with his thievery over my silence, I think it’s time I speak more often again, just for the fans.

“What is it, Chatot? Purrloin got your tongue?” Mandibuzz snapped. “I want this to end right now or I’m going to give you a whoop upside your head for making me stand out in the rain just for this competition that my baby will win anyway!”

“Fine…I’ll do it,” I finally called out.

“Good! I know you’re going to lose though!”

“Shut it, Mandibuzz. We can go over there and freeze you if we want,” said one head of a Vanilluxe. “Ice beats Flying, so keep your beak shut!”

Mandibuzz growled and flew between me and Honchkrow. “Welcome to the Folktale Competition! Today, during this lunch period on the left of me is who I support, Honchkrow!”

The rest of my thief’s fans cheered. “Go get him, Honchkrow! The wimp isn’t worth your time!”

“Over here on my right…Is the school’s most useless male singer, CHATOT!” Mandibuzz flew away from me right after she called out my name. “To his fans, screw you so he can lose!”

Breloom hid behind Vanilluxe while several of my fans pushed me to Honchkrow. “Go get your thief, Chatot of the Folktale Choir!”

Honchkrow went first to sing. As he let out his attractive voice, I was completely angered. My fans booed him, including Breloom. The singing lasted for two and half minutes and finally…It was my turn.

“Try beating that, Chatot! You’ll regret you ever competed with me!” my thief shouted. Mandibuzz laughed and gave him a grand hug. “You did so well, my dear! I just LOVE you!” She finally pushed him and they kissed.

“Arceus, not PDA (Public Display of Affection) again,” the second head of the Vanilluxe sighed. “Chatot, get out there and see if you can beat them!”

I stepped onto the pedestal carefully. It was time to overcome my Quiet Nature. I gazed down at my fans anxiously, my heart beating like crazy, and I let out my notes. My voice was better than it was before my fame disappeared!

“What was that?” Mandibuzz cried. “That voice doesn’t sound like Chatot!”

“Male voices change, bird,” called out a Sharpedo. “I recall that Chatot wins this competition! He should have his fame back like it was before your boyfriend arrived!” Sharpedo and Breloom gathered around me, smiling.

“I believe Honchkrow’s voice is done changing,” shouted a Donphan. “Usually males of the species stop their voice changes a little after they evolve!”

“Your fame shall steal Chatot’s no more!”

“Now it’s time you leave him alone!”

“You caused him silence for three months, mister…Do you now know that your bullying has done this to the little thing?”

The lunch bell rang. Honchkrow was powerless and Mandibuzz was left in devastation. My fans and friends followed me to class, carrying me like it was some sort of school parade. They cheered, laughed, and we all talked about Honchkrow’s downfall.
I was no longer the “Bird that Never Talks” after that day.

Galvantula was pleased the next time I visited her and so were my parents and brothers. “Your fame continues on, my friend,” Breloom says by the time I visited him for the weekend.
